Forgiveness

John 3:16

Two New Testament words we translate 'to forgive':

Aphiemi = “To let go”

I John 1:9

Charizomai = “To cancel a debt”

Colossians 3:13

Canceling a debt means someone had to pay a price.

Hebrews 9:22

Forgiveness always costs the forgiver more than the one being forgiven.
